New navy pumps, a bit tall for the office but they look amazing. Also loving navy, mustard and olive (in my new self-made skirt) for fall. Next time I’ll go nuts with it and mix some orange.

I ain’t your friend. Don’t ask me if Wendy’s is open and then get upset when I say “idk google it”. Like, you ass. I don’t feel like being friendly to idiots.

My brother packed me a gorgeous bouquet to take home. He’s got quite the eye for this!

Today’s run. I’ve only worked out a handful of times this month due to work, so I’m trying to make up for it. The first mile I ran nonstop, the second one I stopped a few times but not for long. I guess that’s my pace, 13 minute miles. Need to improve that, but I’m really happy with today’s workout.

Moules frites (mussels and fries) at Léon de Bruxelles.
So I’d seen the posters for this place—it’s a chain, actually— all over the metro, and I finally went on Wednesday. It is SO good, so perfect for pigging out, and they cook the mussels in a gazillion different ways and you eat them out of a giant pot. I found out they do a student deal for €16 which consists of a pot of mussels, unlimited fries, a pint of beer, and a dessert. And on Sundays they do unlimited mussels for €20!
I’m definitely going back.

I haven’t posted here in a while, so… here you go, another nice photo of the Eiffel tower. I should go around Paris and take photos of it from different angles. I love the one I previously posted from the bottom of the tower, but there’s something so nice about spotting it from a small side street of Quai d’Orsay.

For breakfast:
• Nothing. I wake up early enough as it is (6:30) to get to work on time, and that leaves no time for making or buying breakfast.
Mid-morning:
• A cup of tea. Two, if I’m feeling hungry.
Lunch:
• Bavette frites— pretty much a hunk of beef and fries.
• Celeri remoulade— kinda like cole slaw, but nicer.
• crème brulée for dessert— half the ramekin, since they’re too big.
• diet coke
Afternoon:
• Another cup of tea during coffee break.
Dinner:
• If I go out, I usually grab a sandwich or a galette (savory crêpe).
• If I stay in, it’s a salad or a sandwich, nothing that requires heavy cooking (I don’t have my full kitchen here)
Midnight snack:
• Greek yogurt with fruits
Um… no wonder I feel like i’m losing weight. I’m not eating as much as I used to, and when I do it is much lighter on the stomach. I don’t get super sleepy after lunch the way I used to— I used to actually take a nap after eating!— but I feel pretty satisfied.
I’m not exactly making an effort to eat “lighter,” but it’s just that there’s so many tasty fresh foods here that I don’t feel the need to eat a lot of it or pile on the grease. The strawberries are unbelievable, tiny and sweet like they should be. Grapes are intensely flavorful. Raw-milk cheese tastes so good that only a sliver will do. Tomatoes so ripe that they go bad in a few days. Delicious and cheap bread. Terrine de campagne! Anchovies! Red wine! I’m dying.
And I also don’t have access to my favorite American junk foods. No nachos, no Buffalo wings (which my fellow intern and I were dreaming of today), no good burgers, no real ice cream (all they have is gelato!), no super-sized anything. I miss the junk, but I’m eating so many tasty French things on the cheap that I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything.
I really, really love eating in France.

I went clubbing on Thursday and I met a guy, except I totally don’t remember what he looks like except he’s about my height and his name is Mohammed. He told me I was cute and asked for my number and he took my phone and called his from it, and today he asked me out… I don’t know if I should say yes because I don’t remember what he looks like so I have no idea if I’m attracted to him!
