I'm a 20-year-old girl living in Paris for the summer.

I also have another blog where I talk about stupid stuff that you want to follow.

So today, after the Eiffel tower, Katy and I went to this place in the Marais, better known as the neighborhood where gay and Jewish collides, to grab some falafel. There’s this super famous place called L’As du Falafel, and they are very proud to have Lenny Kravitz endorse it— they have a sign outside that says so— because obviously he is an authority on all things falafel.

Anyhoo. We got giant sandwiches there, and I was very impressed. They have this layering technique, so they do falafel-toppings-falafel-sauce, which is great because there is an uniform falafel distribution. There is nothing I hate more than being halfway done with my sandwich and realizing I’m holding a pita with lettuce and tahini. The toppings were a bit unconventional but amazing: cabbage, fried eggplant (!!!), tomatoes, cucumbers, tahini, and then the most wonderful hot sauce— very flavorful, not too hot. My first time I had a bit of hot sauce and loved it, but the second time I made the mistake of ordering it “très piquant” (very spicy) and the sauce totally overpowered my sandwich.

These sandwiches run about €5 a pop, and they’re more than filling— I mean, we needed forks to eat them! And the Marais is nice enough that you can walk around and look at stores while binging on falafel. We ended up checking out vibes and fuzzy handcuffs at a sex shop, got the most amazing (but expensive) tea at this place called Kusmi, and looked at over-priced shoes.

I like the Marais!
